How BCC Works
You receive a free daily email 5 days per week
Your email arrives first thing in the morning and contains a carefully selected short passage of 5-7 verses for you to copy out by hand.
Old & New Testaments
We pick beautiful passages chosen form the full expanse of the Bible. We range across poetry, wisdom, history, prophecy, Gospels and letters.
The Bible is full of beautiful literature, which we aim to bring to you in a new fresh way.
A Meditation & Encouragement
Each email contains a brief meditation and encouragement to maintain the discipline and run the race. As Christian’s we are well served with amazing devotional tools.
Our focus here is on immersing in the words themselves. We highlight the reason for the choice, and the effect of the words and the punctuation.
Invite friends and form a BCC circle
Writing out scripture by hand is a challenging and rewarding discipline. We encourage you to bring friends into the action to share the experience and increase your enjoyment.
Be part of a movement to revive an old tradition as you renew your faith.
Read the meditation, copy out the passage into a journal, book or diary and let the words seep into you and work on you.
It’s that easy, and that powerful.
What do I do?
Nothing to lose or forget to do
We select the text and send you the email every day (except Sunday), so you have nothing to download and lose, and nothing to forget to do.
Just focus on the passage when it comes to you, and let the act of writing it out by hand deepen your faith.

Frequently asked questions
What is Bible Copy Club?
Bible Copy Club is a free email that gives you a short Bible passage of 5–7 verses to copy out by hand, Monday to Friday, with a round-up on Saturday. Each email includes a brief meditation on the passage and a word of encouragement to keep going.
Is Bible Copy Club free?
Yes, completely free. Sign up with your name and email address and unsubscribe at any time. We’ll never share your email.
How long does it take each day?
About 5 minutes to write out the passage. Allow a little longer if you read it slowly first and again once you’ve finished, which we recommend.
Which Bible translation do you use?
The World English Bible (WEB), a modern English translation in the public domain, laid out with chapter and verse numbers.
What do I need to get started?
A journal, notebook or diary and a pen or pencil. There’s nothing to download. Many members keep a dedicated journal so their copied passages build into something worth keeping.
How do you choose the passages?
We range across the whole Bible, Old and New Testaments: poetry, wisdom, history, prophecy, the Gospels and the letters. Each email explains why we chose the passage and what to notice in its words and punctuation.
What if I miss a day?
Skip it and start again tomorrow. Playing catch-up tends to steal the joy. If you want to go back to a passage you missed, past passages are on the Today’s Passage page.
Is there a community?
Yes. Many members invite friends to form a BCC circle and copy the same passage together. You can also share your progress in our Facebook group, Bible Copy Club Encouragement.
Why copy the Bible by hand?
Writing slows you down. You notice words, punctuation and repetition you’d skim past when reading. It’s an ancient practice, too: Israel’s kings were told to write out their own copy of God’s law (Deuteronomy 17:18). For a full walkthrough, read our guide on how to hand copy the Bible.
